Tongue Of The Doubter

Written by Mirjam Ott

VERSE 1

I don’t need your opinion

Wasn’t asking what you think

I don’t need another piece of your mind

Tainted words just make me sink

VERSE 2

Like Noah was believing

For the flood to come

Watch me preparing

For God’s will to be done

CHORUS

I have to ignore the tongue of the doubter

Chasing the light costs me a fortune

Leaving behind what once was my closest

I know my God has prepared good works for me, oh

That’s all I need

VERSE 3

I’m not looking for alternatives

I don’t need a way out

Though it seems like walls are closing in

I will hold on through the drought

VERSE 4

Like Moses was believing

For the sea to part

Here I am awaiting

The promise to come

CHORUS

I have to ignore the tongue of the doubter

Chasing the light costs me a fortune

Leaving behind what once was my closest

I know my God has prepared good works for me, oh

That’s all I need

BRIDGE

I will let go the latter years

I won’t brood on yesterday

‘Cause you’re doing a new thing

I see it breaking through the ground

Ways in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert

I keep on believing

As if it has already been done

CHORUS

I have to ignore the tongue of the doubter (have to ignore)

Chasing the light costs me a fortune (I’m chasing the light)

Leaving behind what once was my closest (mmh)

I know my God has prepared good works for me, oh

That’s all I need

That’s all I need, oh

Mmh
